Re:  Adoption of "Heaveno" (Positive Greeting)

Date:  September 23, 1998

Dear Mr. Greenawalt,

The time has come to understand, and see hello for what it really represents.

This greeting word (hello) contradicts All Our Positive Social And Cultural Values that we cherish and hold dear.

If our country's pledge would read "One nation under Satan?" then maybe "hello" would deserve some measure of merit!!

Mr. Greenawalt - Why, are you so hell-bent (excuse me - I meant adamant) about denying our children the right to choose what greeting they deem is proper/appropriate/and acceptable to them?

  1. Once again Charles, I am respectfully requesting a positive recommendation on October 6, 1998, adopting Kingsville's and Kleberg county's official greeting "Heaveno" as an optional salutation for use in our Kingsville Indepent School District as a greeting of Peace, Friendship, and Welcome.

We are earnestly anticipating your support in behalf of the school population at large (Our kids!).

I would also like to be the first to acknowledge your positive support in giving Our children a choice.

GOD BLESS US ALL!

Respectfully Yours,

Leonso Canales, Jr.
